Are you planning for holiday this year? Whether it is a usual weekend city break or you just feel like visiting other country or city for tourism. However, Google calendar is mostly used in this case to make sure you pack efficiently all what is needed which can definitely help to make your trip a success.  Whether you are a last minute packer or an organized pro it doesn’t matter, we have gathered for you the best tips from travel experts and travel bloggers you can’t resist adding to your holiday packing.

The below tips will help you to get prepared without being destabilized when the time reaches. Many travellers usually plan on what to do on each day before their travelling, to see that all these tips are accomplished using Google calendar.
Truth be told, Google calendar is excellent but yet has few disadvantages. The disadvantages of using Google calendar to schedule your activities while travelling may even be neglected in most cases but we still need to talk about it.

Tip 1: Buying Of Luggages

You should purchase a more modern luggage if your suitcase or bag is more than 10 years old. Newer fabrics and plastics are much lighter, last longer and are easier to carry than they’ve ever been with many coming with good ideas for a better packing experience, with separate compartments, strong zippers and longer handles.

Your bag should be well-designed, and just enough for your flight,” says John Morris, director of light travel stores Today Travel. “For good balance and good clearance from the ground, wheels should be wide enough apart or the strap should be compact for carrying comfortably.

Aim for both stylish and functional luggage, bearing in mind what it will be used for. You can find a lightweight smaller bag very useful for going out, whether it is a little shoulder day-pack or a strap bag worn across the body. In this case, don’t go for a bag with wheels.

This tip is very important, using the Google calendar you can share this with your friends to remind you on that before you travelled. Google calendar is a web-based platform which requires internet connection. This simply means if there is no internet connection, neither you nor your friends will be connected to use the platform. Then, how will you be notified of upcoming events? This is where Google play disadvantages come to play.

Tip 2: Create a packing list

Starting your packing process days or even weeks ahead of departure gives you enough time to draw a full list. These are save on the Google calendar right! It is perfect, but another disadvantages is that, you can’t use it if your phone is not a smartphone.
This is another Google calendar disadvantages for travellers. However, Make your packing list a fail-proof way to make sure that you never forget to bring the most important things.
Start your list with clothing items, then bathroom items, then move to entertainment items like books, mp3, CDs etc. You also need to write down sleeping items, medications you will need while away, and if you’re camping, you will also need to include some outdoor items.
This can be saved on your phone calendar which can notify you even when you are offline. Adding it also to Google calendar can be an addition to make you be reminded of your to-do list.

Tip 3: Pack multi-purpose clothes

Observing the weather of where you’re heading is very important. However, you can simply use Google weather and calendar to check, so that you can choose the appropriate clothing. Pack a careful mix of items that can all be worn with each other, in easy wash and dry fabrics that don’t need ironing after. Dual purpose items such as shorts as pants or jacket that can be used as travel pillow can help in reducing airline baggage fees. Roll instead of folding.

A lot of backpackers and travel experts who must pack a months’ worth of clothing into a bag the size of a box will agree that rolling is better than folding. Folded clothes take up more space than tightly rolled clothes. And they are more prone to creases. Even if you have clothes that need ironing, many hotels will provide. The clothing you put on is also very important. Women should look to pick shoes rather than trainers and equally look smart. Except you’re expecting to be met by a host of paparazzi at your destination should you wear heels and plenty of facial make-up.

Comfort is king for air travel. Wearing loose clothing, shoes that can be easily slipped off, or untied, or a casual jacket to help if temperature drops is ideal. Put on compression socks too if it’s a long flight.
Put small items like socks into shoes to save space. Consider buying compression bags if you’re going to be away for a while and need a lot of clothes for different weather conditions.

Tip 4: Know the baggage-fee policy of your airline

If your packing strategy is budget minded, then make sure you fully understand the airlines’ tricky and confusing baggage-fee policies. Take a glance at the baggage policy of your airline on its website, you can do that before buying a plane ticket, especially if you are going with one or two checked bags. Consider flying with airlines that permit at least one free checked bag on local flights, Know and follow flight rules.

Tip 5: Use personal equipment wisely

Allowing each traveler to carry along one carry-on bag and one personal item onboard planes is standard practice for airlines. The size requirements of these personal items vary by airline but, something like a purse, laptop bag, or backpack is usually acceptable.

Technology has helped to free us from taking piles of airport paperbacks to read. Nowadays, a lightweight tablet can be pre-loaded with any amount of heavyweight tomes, don’t forget the charger though. If that doesn’t power up all the rest of your devices,  invest in a universal charger and cable that can keep everything charged up via the tablet.

Going on camping trips, night-walks, glow worm caves or where you might want to read at night without disturbing a partner? A small torch can be very useful. Another item that can prove invaluable is Ear plugs.

Tip 6: Arrange Your Food Stuff

Pack some food with you, having in mind that certain foodstuffs are not allowed across the borders. If you have certain needs, check their availability at your destination beforehand. A packet of herbal teas, for example, do come in handy for me, while for others it might be a bottle of duty-free wine or whiskey. A few packs of dehydrated food could be useful for camping.

It might appeal to you to work on your summer body during the holiday, but unless you’re going to a health retreat, not eating enough never works!

For most people, the most memorable holiday experience has to be the new food to discover, from so many varieties and traditions. Its normal to take back home from your journey these new recipes and ingredients. But make sure you are transporting them home properly.

Tip 7: Layer up

Your luggage should feature plenty of layers to enable you breeze through multiple climates in style and comfort. Dress in layers and pack in layers. The things you have in your bag should be packed neatly in layers to allow easy screening. Shoes one layer, electronics one layer, clothes one layer, etc. so that security screening can be done as quickly as possible. How fast you’ll get through the security line depends on how fast the TSA agent can screen through your belongings.

Tip 8: Clean clothes on your travel

One good thing about staying in vacation rentals is the presence of laundry facilities. If you will be lodging in a hotel, calling in advance to check the availability and cost of laundry services is a smart move. If there will be free laundry facilities in your accommodation, yippee! You can wear and wash and wear again a handful of outfits throughout the duration of long trips. Travelers taking cruise (cruise lines are known to charge sky high for laundry services) or staying in places without laundry facilities can wash clothes in sinks and dry them by hanging. Pack a travel-size packet of detergent and portable laundry-drying lines to clean your clothes on the road.

Tip 9: Essential items should not be in check

It is extremely important to avoid keeping your essential belongings in your checked luggage. Instead, keep them in your carry-on bag. Passport, jewelry, ID, money, and this sort of stuff should always be brought along with you onto the plane. I don’t think you need to be told why. Because, if a TSA agent gets sticky fingers or the airline misplaces your luggage you will regret packing these valuable items in a checked bag.
